Datawind To Launch 4G Handset Priced Under 3K
Datawind the low cost handset manufacturer has announced to launch a 4G device earlier next year at about 3000 rs and will offer a 12 month free internet browsing on it.
“We will launch a 4G device for about Rs 3,000 with free unlimited 4G browsing for 12 months,” Datawind President and CEO Suneet Singh Tuli told PTI,but he also added that the free internet access will not include free downloads and videos, Tuli said that those who want to enjoy videos and download files/video/etc can get a data plan from there network operator.On this he was asked that, this action of Datawind is violating the principals of net neutrality on which he answered,” it was not the case, as it is not discriminating among websites” He said what they are doing is perfectly net neutral as they are offering free Internet browsing and people can access any website they want to without paying data charges for browsing but downloading is not included in our offer.
He said Datawind is in converses with different portable administrators for the 4G gadget. The organization as of now has associations with Reliance Communications and Telenor for the free 2G and 3G Internet scanning. Bharti Airtel on August 6 had reported dispatch of its 4G cell telephone administrations and now covers more than 350 towns while Vodafone has begun with Kochi, which will be trailed by Delhi, Mumbai, and different metros by March.
